SUMMARY
Occupational therapists treat disabled, ill or injured students with special equipment and the therapeutic use of daily activities. Ours is a special education needs setting, and hence we would expect the OTs to help our students improve, regain and develop the skills needed for day to day life. They may provide long-term client care and acute client care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducting physical and psychological assessments of students and developing or following a treatment plan.
- Assessing home and class environments of students and deciding what adjustments are needed.
- Advising on adaptive equipment to help students with daily activities.
- Developing physical rehabilitation programs to help students regain lost skills.
- Preparing students for a return to class and back to learning.
- Educating caregivers and family members on care required off-school environment.
- Evaluating results and progress of occupational therapy on students.
- Maintaining professional knowledge and technical progress in order to provide students with the best treatment program available.
- Complying with certification requirements of local authorities, governing bodies and/or other healthcare bodies like Public Health England and Department for Education.
- Evaluating student condition regarding physical and basic mental health.

- Certified by the HCPC
- Compliant with governmental healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Possess up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programs.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to take care of students with different personalities.
- Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.
- Ability to assess student’s condition and work with effective treatment plans

Salary: £31,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
